More than a decade ago, a Tapex sales representative came up with a simple but powerful idea: why not use coloured silage wrap to raise awareness and funds for cancer foundations? That idea took root, and with the support of our global partners, it quickly grew into something bigger. When Tama acquired Tapex in 2020, we didn’t just continue the initiative – we expanded it.
Today, our pink cotton wrap is part of a global effort to drive awareness and funding for cancer support services, while our partners at Trioworld supply pink, blue, and yellow silage wraps for farmers around the world.
Tama’s partnership with the McGrath Foundation has spanned more than a decade. During this time, our customers’ purchases of pink TamaWrap have helped fund the placement of five Breast Care Nurses in rural and regional communities – contributing meaningfully to the Foundation’s goal of placing 150 nurses across Australia.
These nurses are more than just medical professionals – they’re a source of comfort, information, and support to individuals and families facing breast cancer. As the McGrath Foundation expands its mission to provide care for all cancers from 2025 onwards, we’re proud to continue our support alongside our customers.
In 2024, our charity commitment grew deeper. After being approached by long-time customers Australian Food & Fibre, Tama launched a new initiative with Beyond Blue – Australia’s leading mental health support organisation.
Through the introduction of our Blue TamaWrap, customers could help raise vital funds for mental health support programs across rural Australia. In our inaugural year, we helped provide mental health support for 469 Australians in need. In 2025, we’ve set our sights on supporting 600 more, and we’re committed to continuing this mission long into the future.
We understand the challenges that rural communities face – whether it’s access to healthcare, mental health services, or simply knowing someone is in your corner. Farming is more than a profession. It’s a way of life, and it’s built on resilience, family, and community.
Our pink and blue wraps are more than just products. They’re symbols of solidarity. They represent the efforts of an entire industry giving back – from paddock to picker, from contractors to growers.
With every roll of coloured TamaWrap used in the field, there’s a story of support, compassion, and community spirit. We’re proud to stand with our customers in helping to fund vital services – and to bring awareness to issues that affect us all.
Because at Tama, we believe that premium wrap doesn’t just protect cotton – it supports the people who grow it.
